I've come across things like gloves and scarves on the bus which happens a lot in Canada winters. Once I found someone's student ID card at the library and turned it in to the front desk. I also keep an eye on the ground when I'm walking around. Nothing too wild, but it happens more often than you'd think.

I'd definitely try to return it. If the phone was unlocked, I'd look for a recent contact and try to reach someone. If not, I'd turn it in to the nearest lost-and-found. As a matter of fact, I know how stressful it is to lose a phone.

As a matter of fact, yes! I once left my wallet at a coffee shop and didn't realize until hours later. When I went back, the barista told me someone had turned it in with everything still inside. I was so relieved because I could have tracked down the owner myself, but someone else did the right thing.

For sure. As a matter of fact, I think social media is really powerful for that kind of thing. I'm in a few Facebook groups for Vietnamese students in Canada, and people post about lost items all the time. It's actually a really effective way to track things down, though sometimes I just forget where I put things and it slips my mind completely where they are until I check the lost and found.
